Great Blue Heron by Natalie Castro
Natalie Castro, es parte de la nueva generación de la gran familia cultura de The Cove/Rincón y ha sido premiada en el Congretional Art Competition – Descubrimiento Artístico 2024 por su obra Great Blue Heron.
Cada primavera, el Instituto del Congreso patrocina un concurso nacional de artes visuales para estudiantes de secundaria con el fin de reconocer y fomentar el talento artístico en la nación y en cada distrito del Congreso. Desde que comenzó el concurso Descubrimiento Artístico en 1982, han participado más de 650.000 estudiantes de secundaria.
Los estudiantes envían sus obras a la oficina de su representante, y paneles de artistas del distrito seleccionan las obras ganadoras. Los ganadores reciben un reconocimiento tanto en su distrito como en una ceremonia anual de entrega de premios en Washington, DC. Las obras ganadoras se exponen durante un año en el Capitolio de los Estados Unidos.

Natalie Castro, part of the new generation of The Cove/Rincón’s cultural family, has won an award in the Congressional Art Competition – Artistic Discovery for her painting Great Blue Heron.
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a national visual arts competition for high school students to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery contest began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
Students submit their artwork to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners receive recognition both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. Winning entries are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
