El camino desde la fotocopia hasta Amazon
Así fue como comenzamos… la primera publicación de The Cove/Rincón fue a maquina de escribir; cada hoja de papel bond tamaño carta fue fotocopiada por ambos lados. Tenía seis páginas que fueron engrapadas y está fechada: Octubre/Noviembre 1995. Su titular celebra que la organización es una realidad. El editorial de Marily A. Reyes, su fundadora, anuncia que ha nacido una nueva organización y plasma el moto: “No dejemos que nacionalidad, raza, sexo, ni edad nos separen…”, una frase que cada día cobra más vigencia y mayor significado.
The path from photocopies to Amazon
So that’s how we began… The Cove/Rincón’s first publication was typewritten; each sheet of letter-size bond paper was photocopied on both sides. It had six pages that were stapled together and is dated: October/November 1995. Its headline celebrates that the organization is a reality. The Editorial, by Marily A. Reyes, its founder, announces that a new organization has been born and expresses and their leitmotiv: “Let no nationality, race, sex, nor age make a difference…” a frase that has become more relevant and meaningful every day.
De las fotocopias pasamos por el stencil y de ahí al offset y para 1996 ya teníamos un newsletter y en 1998 nos aventuramos a publicar nuestro primer libro Rincón bohemio, gala del rincón escrita, que reunió el trabajo de los miembros que teníamos para el momento. Poco después, el ya popular newsletter se convirtió en nuestra publicación oficial y la primera revista se publicó en abril de 1999, impresa a un solo color.
Hoy, después de más de un cuarto de siglo promoviendo la cultura, The Cove/Rincón Internacional cuenta con su propio sello editorial y sus publicaciones se pueden adquirir en Amazon, tanto en formato impreso como en digital. Nuestra revista, con un tiraje de 1000 ejemplares y más de cincuenta páginas, llega a muchísimos rincones del mundo y ahora más que nunca seguimos uniendo países a través de la cultura como una gran familia.
From photocopies we went through the stencil and from there to offset and by 1996 we already had a newsletter and in 1998 we ventured to publish our first book “Rincón bohemio, gala del rincón escrita”, which compiled the work of the members we had at the time. Soon after, our already popular newsletter became our official publication: our first magazine in April 1999, printed only in black.
Today, after more than a quarter of a century promoting culture, The Cove/Rincon International has its own publishing seal and its publications can be purchased on Amazon, both in print and digital formats. Our magazine, with a circulation of 1000 copies and more than fifty pages, reaches many corners of the world and now more than ever we continue to unite countries through culture as one big family.

GETTING deep into THE PROJECTS
El Proyecto Holocausto es una compromiso asumido por un grupo de escritores, académicos y en general personas de conciencia social, con el fin de estudiar, reflexionar y difundir la tragedia humana de la Shoah, el Holocausto judío, perpetrado por el regimen Nazi entre 1933 y 1945.
El Proyecto Holocausto es motivado por dos inquietudes acuciantes:
Primero: El desarrollo de una “cultura de olvido” respecto al Holocausto judio. Esto es causado en parte por la lejanía en el tiempo de los eventos y el fallecimiento de la mayoría de los sobrevivientes, y en parte por el deseo, consciente o inconsciente, de muchos de consignar estas atrocidades al olvido.
Segundo: La aprehensión de que el Holocausto, en diferentes formas y circunstancias, con diferentes víctimas, se vuelva a repetir. Es lícito decir que las guerras, genocidios, y campañas de “limpieza o purificaciones étnicas” practicadas en muchas partes del mundo, desde el término de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, justifica esta aprehensión .
The Cove/Rincón se ha comprometido a poner su grano de arena y varios se están montando en el tren, esta vez no de aniquilamiento, sino de esperanza y amor.
The Holocaust Project is a commitment undertaken by a group of writers, academics and socially conscious people in general, to study, reflect and disseminate the human tragedy of the Shoah, the Jewish Holocaust, perpetrated by the Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945.
The Holocaust Project is motivated by two pressing concerns:
First: The development of a “culture of forgetfulness” regarding the Jewish Holocaust. This is caused in part by the remoteness of the events and the passing of most of the survivors, and in part by the desire, conscious or unconscious, of many to consign these atrocities to forgetfulness.
Second: The apprehension that the Holocaust, in different forms and circumstances, with different victims, will recur. It is fair to say that the wars, genocides, and campaigns of “ethnic cleansing” practiced in many parts of the world since the end of World War II justify this apprehension.
The Cove/Rincón is committed to doing its part and several are getting on the bandwagon, this time not of annihilation, but of hope and love.

En Israel, siembran un árbol en cada hueco que deja un misil para que la esperanza venza al odio. Para The Cove/Rincón es profundamente significativo que Batsheva Forn, parte de nuestra familia cultural y colaboradora en el Proyecto Holocausto, haya sembrado 10 arboles en nombre de nuestra organización en Israel.
A TREE IN EVERY PLACE WHERE A MISSILE LANDS
In Israel, a tree is planted in every hole left by a missile so that hope overcomes hate. It is deeply meaningful to The Cove/Rincón that Batsheva Forn, part of our cultural family and collaborator in the Holocaust Project, has planted 10 trees on behalf of our organization in Israel.
Sobreviviente del Holocausto / Holocaust Survivor
Anita Karl nació el 26 de Mayo 1938 en la ciudad de Lwow, Polonia. En la actualidad es la sobreviviente más joven del Holocausto.
Su familia judía, ortodoxa, patriarcal, numerosa y bien acomodada. La familia de la Sra Karl fue parte de los muchos millones de judíos que fueron masacrados durante el Holocausto. Después de la guerra fue encontrada por su tío que la llevó al Perú. La Sra. Karl habla nueve idiomas y da charlas sober el Holocausto desde los diecinueve años. Es recipiente de una medalla de Honor Madlev del estado de Israel, en agradecimiento a su trabajo por las causas judías.
Hoy día vive en paz rodeada de sus hijos y nietos. Sus charlas son dedicadas a sus adorados padres Malí y Samuel Karl por su gran valor y coraje al salvar las vidas de sus tres hijas.
Anita Karl was born on May 26, 1938 in Lwow, Poland. Today she is the youngest survivor of the Holocaust.
Her family is Jewish, Orthodox, patriarchal, large and well-to-do. Mrs. Karl’s family was among the many millions of Jews who were massacred during the Holocaust. After the war she was found by her uncle who took her to Peru. Mrs. Karl speaks nine languages and has been speaking about the Holocaust since the age of nineteen. She is the recipient of a Madlev Medal of Honor from the State of Israel, in appreciation of her work for Jewish causes.
Today she lives in peace surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her talks are dedicated to her beloved parents Mali and Samuel Karl for their great courage and bravery in saving the lives of their three daughters.

Ernesto Kahan forma parte del grupo de médicos que recibieron el Premio Noble de la Paz en los años 80, es argentino, judío y vive en Israel. Es médico, poeta y doctor honorario en literatura. Debido a la dictadura emigró a Israel (1976). Profesor en las Universidades: Tel Aviv-Israel, UNBA-Argentina, Patagonia-Argentina, UCE-Dominicana, Católica-Perú, UNAM-México, y Salamanca-España.
Ernesto Kahan is one of the group of doctors that received the Noble Peace Prize in the 80’s, he is an Argetinian, Jewish and lives in Israel. He is a physician, poet and honorary doctor in literature. Due to the dictatorship he emigrated to Israel (1976). Professor at the following Universities: Tel Aviv-Israel, UNBA-Argentina, Patagonia-Argentina, UCE-Dominican, Catholic-Peru, UNAM-Mexico, and Salamanca-Spain.

Querida amiga Marily,
Ayer por la mañana recibí el libro, e inmediatamente pasé a leerlo. No imaginaba que me iba a producir tanta admiración y emoción. Tanta, que al leer el relato El amor a pesar del Holocausto de Batsheva Forn, me encontré lagrimeando. Este libro, en mi opinión, tiene un gran valor educativo y merece una importante difusión. Cosa que trataré de hacer desde mi modesta posición. Quiero señalar muchos pasajes que me impactaron de sobremanera:
En tu Introducción, que es muy apropiada, dices que “es muy importante que las personas, todas, nos demos cuenta que estamos expuestos al Holocausto, independientemente de religión, nacionalidad, raza, etc.. En el final de la Introducción, dices: “El odio y la humillación son el pan nuestro de cada día y fue el común denominador del Holocausto…”
El prólogo de Sixto J. García, es muy necesario para los que abordan el libro, no importa si todo no es nuevo para algunos. Muy impactante es cuando pregunta “¿Qué tengo yo que ver con esto?” y la respuesta “Todo” […] y comenta la frase de Wiesel “El sufrimiento de un ser humano, en cualquier parte del mundo, es la responsabilidad de todos los seres, en todo el mundo”.
El aspecto moral, está muy bien presentado por Elías Galati, ¿Cómo prevenir el Holocausto, la guerra nuclear, el terrorismo? Dice: “El origen de estos flagelos es el hombre y su conducta…” De esa manera, él sugiere que nada ni nadie está exento de sufrir semejante riesgo y en consecuencia todos debemos actuar para la prevención.
En el capítulo Tiempo de sanación, del Pastor Moisés Hernández mucho me emocionó su humildad y sinceridad. Cito el párrafo “Finalmente nos abrazamos llorando como si siempre nos hubiésemos conocido […] … cuando le escuché decir con una voz entrecortada. Tú eres de los nuestros, de los que verdaderamente aman al pueblo de Israel” y respondió “Amén”.
Obviamente no comentaré mi contribución, sólo agradecerte su inclusión, en esta preciosa obra.
También me emocionaste mucho, Marily, cuando escribiste “Hoy yo ya mayor, comprendo otras cosas, entiendo mejor a mi papá. lo recuerdo, lo respeto y pienso en Mike…” y yo te digo a ti, lo mismo, puesto que te conozco mejor, como un ser humano digno, admirable y tan sensible.
Para terminar este comentario, nuevamente me refiero al texto El amor a pesar del Holocausto. Es un relato inigualable en calidad de narrativa literaria, en los giros que llegan al corazón de los lectores. Ejemplo, cuando al comentar la importante participación de padres en el paseo de los niños dice “Había tantas madres y padres como niños. Comprendí que aquel fue un viaje desde y hacia la fe en la vida”.

Dear friend, Marily,
Yesterday morning I received the book, and immediately started reading it. I did not imagine that it would produce so much admiration and emotion in me. So much so, that when I read the story “Love in spite of the Holocaust” by Batsheva Forn, I found myself tearing up. This book, in my opinion, has a great educational value and deserves an important diffusion, which I will try to do from my modest position.
I would like to point out many passages that had a great impact on me:
In your Introduction, which is very appropriate, you say that “it is very important that people, all of us, realize that we are exposed to the Holocaust, regardless of religion, nationality, race, etc.”. At the end of the Introduction, you say, “Hatred and humiliation are our daily bread and was the common denominator of the Holocaust….”
The Foreword by Sixto J. Garcia, is very necessary for those who approach the book, no matter if everything is not new to some. Very striking is when he asks “What do I have to do with this?” and the answer “Everything” […] and comments on Wiesel’s phrase “The suffering of a human being, anywhere in the world, is the responsibility of all beings, all over the world.”
The moral aspect is very well presented by Elias Galati, “How to prevent the Holocaust, nuclear war, terrorism? The origin of these scourges is man and his behavior.” In this way, he suggests that nothing and no one is exempt from suffering such a risk and consequently we must all act for prevention.
In the chapter “Time for Healing” by Pastor Moisés Hernández, I was very moved by his humility and sincerity. I quote the paragraph “Finally we embraced each other, crying as if we had always known each other […] … when I heard him say in a broken voice: “You are one of us, one of those who have always known each other […]. You are one of us, one of those who truly love the people of Israel” and he replied “Amen”.
Obviously I won’t comment on my contribution, just thank you for its inclusion, in this precious piece.
You also touched me very much, Marily, when you wrote “Today that I am older, I understand other things, I understand my dad better, I remember him, I respect him and I think of Mike…” and I say the same to you, since I know you better, as a worthy, admirable and so sensitive human being.
To end this comment, I refer again to the text “Love in Spite of the Holocaust”. It is a story unequaled in literary narrative quality, in the twists and turns that touch the readers’ hearts. For example, when commenting on the important participation of parents in the children’s walk she says “There were as many mothers and fathers as there were children. I understood that it was a journey from and towards faith in life”.

Igualmente es Miembro del Consejo Internacional de las Artes (INTERART) y de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Poetas. En los campos de concentración, antes de entrar a las cámaras de gas, los poemas fueron guardados dentro de botellas y escondidos junto a la raíz del pino más alto cual si fuera una semilla; se guardaron también dentro de zapatos desgarrados como testimonio de su trágico paso por este mundo y otras; fueron voces desesperadas entregadas a algún viento mensajero en pequeños trozos de papel conseguidos en medio del dolor, del hambre y la muerte. Voces de poetas que habrían de convertirse en un grito inacabable de resistencia contra la crueldad, la intolerancia y la injusticia.
La reciente publicación titulada Proyecto Holocausto. Nunca Más! (Creando conciencia), por The Cove/Rincón Corp. de autoría múltiple, diecinueve personas, entre ellas, conferencistas y escritores y el valioso testimonio de Anita Karl, sobreviviente del holocausto, reflexionan desde diferentes puntos de vista pero confluyen en una sola idea: la necesidad de recordar el clamor inacabable de justicia de millones de víctimas.
Es un esfuerzo conjunto sabiendo que la palabra escrita es el mejor instrumento para educar y que todo tiempo es tiempo para seguir sembrando la semilla de la verdad que nos dejaron debajo de aquel pino triste; la semilla que se convierta en frutos para alimentar la memoria colectiva y no sólo para recordar, sino; para actuar contra la intolerancia, la violencia, el odio y la otra forma de olvido: la indiferencia.
In the concentration camps, before entering the gas chambers, the poems were hidden inside bottles and burried next to the root of the tallest pine tree as if it were a seed; they were also kept inside torn shoes as a testimony of their tragic passage through this world and others; they were desperate voices delivering their messages to the wind on small pieces of paper obtained in the midst of the pain, hunger and death. Voices of poets that would become an endless cry of resistance against cruelty, intolerance and injustice.
The recent publication titled “Holocaust Project. Never Again! (Creating Consciousness),” by The Cove/Rincón Corp., a multi-authored publication, of a group of nineteen people, including speakers and writers, and the valuable testimony of Holocaust survivor Anita Karl, reflects from different points of view but that converge in a single idea: the need to remember the unending cry for justice of millions of victims.
It is a joint effort, knowing that the written word is the best instrument to educate and that every time is time to continue sowing the seed of truth that they left us under that sad pine tree; the seed that becomes fruit to nourish the collective memory and not only to remember, but also to act against intolerance, violence, hatred and the other form of forgetfulness: indifference.

Muchos fanáticos y o necios del planeta, se niegan a condenar, e incluso a reconocer que existió, el horrísono holocausto de más de 6 millones de judíos, perpetrado por los Nazis durante la II Guerra Mundial.
Para contribuir a que no caiga en el olvido ese genocidio espeluznante, la ONG The Cove/Rincón Internacional, liderada por la diligente Marily Reyes, organizó un evento, el cual tuve el honor de disertar, cuyas ponencias fueron recogidas en el libro:
PROYECTO HOLOCAUSTO ¡NUNCA MAS!
Una hermosa y urgente iniciativa.

La entidad cultural The Cove/Rincón Internacional realizará este viernes 12 de marzo a las 7 pm (vía zoom), un acto de repudio al Holocuasto contra los judíos, perpetrado por los Nazis durante la II Guerra Mundial.
Y de alerta contra los genocidios que ahora se practican o están por venir.
En el acto se celebra el libro: PROYECTO HOLOCAUSTO ¡NUNCA MAS!
