Yo, como uno de los miembros más jóvenes, con diecisiete años, deseo expresar mi gratitud y compartir cómo mi experiencia con The Cove/Rincon ha enriquecido mi crecimiento personal y profesional. Unirme a esta organización desde muy joven me ha abierto las puertas a oportunidades que nunca imaginé posibles. Las nuevas conexiones con personas de todo el mundo han ampliado mi comprensión del mundo, de la cultura y me han abierto los ojos a la belleza de la diversidad.

A lo largo de los años, he desarrollado aptitudes de liderazgo, comunicación y trabajo en equipo, e incluso he aprendido a intercambiar ideas culturales, lo que ha profundizado mi aprecio por el poder unificador del arte y me ha llevado a ocupar un puesto en la Junta Directiva. Me he sentido inspirada para superar los límites y salir de mi zona de confort al exponer mis obras de arte y hablar de ellas a un grupo numeroso. Este entorno me ha animado a explorar mi propio potencial, al tiempo que aprendía del increíble trabajo de los demás.

Estoy profundamente agradecida por la oportunidad de formar parte de un grupo tan inspirador como The Cove/Rincon y seguiré formando parte de él. Las experiencias que he adquirido aquí seguirán guiándome a medida que crezca, tanto como artista, como a lo largo de mis años como adulto joven.

I, as one of the youngest members, being seventeen years old, wish to express my gratitude and share how my experience with The Cove Rincon has enriched my personal and professional growth. Joining this organization from a very young age has opened doors to opportunities I never imagined possible. New connections with individuals from across the globe have broadened my understanding of the world, culture, and opened my eyes to the beauty in diversity.

Over the years, I’ve developed skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and even learned to exchange cultural ideas, which has deepened my appreciation for the unifying power of art and eventually led to my position on the Board of Directors. I’ve been inspired to push boundaries and get out of my comfort zone by displaying my artwork and talking about it to a large group. This environment has encouraged me to explore my own potential, while also learning from the incredible work of others.

I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring group as The Cove Rincon and will continue to be part of it. The experiences I’ve gained here will continue to guide me as I grow, both as an artist and through my years as a young adult.

Mi relación con The Cove/Rincón comenzó cuando la poetiza Ligia Guerrero me puso en contacto con Marily Reyes, presidente y fundadora de The Cove/Rincón.

Desde un principio me impresionó la gran diversidad de artes, artistas, razas y nacionalidades que constituyen este grupo cultural. Se vive la inclusividad que predica su presidente y fundadora.

No solamente tuve la oportunidad de cantar, que es mi arte, soy tenor profesional, pero pronto me vi involucrado en proyectos. Uno fue la organización de la música que se incluiría en las celebraciones de aniversarios de The Cove/Rincón. Otros fueron la organización de programas que hemos estado presentando en centros de rehabilitación y residencia para personas de la tercera edad. Principalmente en NSPIRE y ST. ANNE’S.

He gozado de la colaboración de Magvis Remedios y Miguel Cervantes en el canto y música; Irma Figueroa e Isabel Castro en artes manuales, Néstor Pous en poesías y Odalis de León quien ha obtenido regalos para los residentes.  

Todos los miembros de The Cove/Rincón que se une a nosotros en estas presentaciones, reciben la gran compensación espiritual y emocional que recibimos. Lo que damos, lo recibimos con creses en las muestras de felicidad y agradecimiento de parte de los residentes.

Mientras pueda, pienso continuar siendo parte de The Cove/Rincón.  

My relationship with The Cove/Rincon started when the poet Ligia Guerrero put me in contact with Marily Reyes, president and founder of  The Cove/Rincón.

From the beginning, I was impressed by the diversity of arts, artists, races and nationalities that constitutes this cultural group. We live the inclusivity promoted by its president and founder.

Not only did I have the opportunity to sing, which is my art, I’m a professional tenor, but I promptly found myself involved in projects. One of them was the organization of the music to be included in the celebrations of anniversaries of The Cove/Rincon. Other projects consisted of the organization of the programs, we have been presenting in rehabilitation and residence centers for elderly folks. Principally in NSPIRE and ST. ANNE’S.

I have enjoyed the collaboration of Magvis Remedios and Miguel Cerventes in song and music; Irma Figueroa and Isabel Castro in manual arts, Nestor Pous in poetry, and Odalis de Leon, who obtained presents for the residents.

All the members of The Cove/Ricon who join us in these presentations receive great spiritual and emotional compensation. Whatever we give, we receive many times over in the form of manifestations of joy and gratitude from the residents.

As long as I can, I intend to continue being part of The Cove/Rincon.

“Ingresé a The Cove/Rincón en el año 2012 por invitación de mi querida Delegada en México, Patricia Garza Soberanis. Esta maravillosa organización cultural ha significado  un cambio extraordinario en mi vida. Soy abogada y no imaginé que podría dedicarme a escribir poesía y narrativa; inclusive empecé a pintar. Todas las actividades que he desarrollado en The Cove/Rincón me han encantado. Me siento feliz. Ha sido la gran oportunidad para crecer como mujer; mi entorno familiar y social se incrementaron de manera favorable. Nuestra Directora Marily A. Reyes brinda  su apoyo incondicional con gran calidad humana. Su presencia es cálida y cercana; un estímulo constante. Igualmente el de Patricia Garza Soberanis. “I joined The Cove/Rincón in 2012 at the invitation of my dear Delegate in Mexico, Patricia Garza Soberanis. This wonderful cultural organization has meant an extraordinary change in my life. I am a lawyer and I never imagined that I could dedicate myself to writing poetry and narrative; I even began to paint. I have loved all the activities I have developed at The Cove/Rincón. I feel happy. It has been a great opportunity to grow as a woman; my family and social environment have increased in a favorable way. Our Director Marily A. Reyes provides unconditional support with great human qualities. Her presence is warm and close; a constant encouragement. Likewise Patricia Garza Soberanis. The Cove/Rincón significa el mundo que me pertenece. Es el espacio infinito de encuentro conmigo misma y con el resto de los artistas, trabajadores de la cultura con quienes dialogando en distintas sinfonías, en distintos matices, y por esta diversidad es la riqueza del capital que logramos vivir en este “rincón”, a través de la amistad la y cordialidad. Esta organización me conecta con el mundo sin barreras; es el lugar que generosamente y con aprecio escucha mi palabra hecha poesía; me permite compartir mis obras visuales, también como jurado en artes visuales. The Cove/Rincón me permite crecer y estar siempre actualizada, es decir, me regala día a día festejar el valor de la vida traducida en arte.

The Cove/Rincón means the world that belongs to me, it is the infinite space of encounter with myself and with the rest of the artists, culture workers with whom dialoguing in different symphonies, in different shades, and due to this diversity we have such a wealthy capital in our lives in this “corner”, through friendship and cordiality. This organization connects me with the world without any barriers; it is the place that generously and with appreciation listens to my word made poetry; it allows me to share my visual works, also as a juror in visual arts. The Cove/Rincón allows me to grow and to be always updated, that is to say, it gives me the gift of celebrating day by day the value of life translated into art.

Para mí, The Cove/Rincón International, con más de un cuarto de siglo de servicio a la comunidad, significa la unión de distintas nacionalidades por medio de la cultura, compartiendo pensamientos inspiradores, ideas útiles e impresiones positivas con fines amistosos.

Nuestra creatividad se siente estimulada en poesía, narrativa, pintura, fotografía, teatro, música y otras artes, a través de reuniones mensuales; también, visitas a centros juveniles, casas de retirados, escuelas, talleres, publicaciones e intercambios internacionales, por medio de sus Delegados, siempre en búsqueda de la máxima expresión del arte y la literatura.

For me, The Cove/Rincón International, with more than a quarter of a century of service to the community, means the union of different nationalities through culture, sharing inspiring thoughts, useful ideas and positive impressions for friendly purposes.

Our creativity is stimulated in poetry, narrative, painting, photography, theater, music and other arts, through monthly meetings; also, visits to youth centers, retirement homes, schools, workshops, publications and international exchanges, through its Delegates, always in search of the maximum expression of art and literature.

The Cove/Rincón es ese rincón que trasciende del alma de quienes amamos el arte en todas sus expresiones y desde donde contribuimos a hacer del mundo un lugar de paz, belleza y armonía.

The Cove/Rincón is that corner that transcends the soul of those of us who love art in all its expressions and from where we contribute to make the world a place of peace, beauty and harmony.
